Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are you “Anti-McCann”?
We are not "anti" anything or anyone - we are pro-Justice, pro-Free Speech, pro-Re-opening the Police Investigation.

2. Why are people libelling the McCann? They have lost a child!
Just because people are questioning the abduction theory and want to re-open the case, doesn’t mean they are “libelling” anybody.
There is simply no evidence of abduction.
Too many questions remaining unanswered in this case, hence the speculation - everybody has an opinion.

3. The Portuguese Judiciary declared the McCann innocent and closed the case.
The case isn’t closed, just archived – it may be re-opened at the McCann’s request or if new significant evidence is found.
The McCann were not declared “innocent” – there was no trial. The Judiciary merely lifted the McCann’s “Arguido” (suspect) status because the case was archived for lack of evidence.

4. The Portuguese Police has bungled the investigation and the chief-Inspector Amaral tried to pin the fault on the parents.
There has been a lot of deliberate misinformation aimed at discrediting the investigation, since its course changed from the abduction scenario to investigate the many inconsistencies in the accounts of what happened that night from the Tapas group.
It's easy to criticise the PJ, especially when not in full possession of all the facts. Let's just remember that this was a joint investigation. It was the UK police force who first suggested the PJ look at the McCanns. It was the UK police who suggested bringing in the dogs. The dogs are British and world renown. It was the dogs which provided the catalyst in the investigation which led to the parents being made arguidos.

5. The parents always said they were cooperating fully with the Police.
They may have said that at an early stage.
The Tapas group refused to return to Portugal to take part in a reconstruction to clear up their many inconstancies.
A witness saw a man carrying a child towards the beach at 10pm on May 3rd 2007, he later identified this man as Gerry McCann.
Moreover, Kate McCann REFUSED to answer some 40+ questions in connection with Madeleine' disappearance.
There are still many unanswered questions that with the help of the all group, could help find Madeleine or at least, what happened to her.
